The design of this illustration is based on the history of Kerava as a central place for circus, fairground and amusement business, which started in 1888. The male character in the illustration is inspired by the circus strongman and the elephant in the illustration pays homage to Pepita, Finland’s very own elephant, who performed for a long time in the free shows of the Finnish Tivoli.
